We’re just getting started

Our CertificationsPhilosophyResponsible SourcingOur Commitment

After years of extensive experience. Our journey began in 2015. We started our path in the fashion industry with the creation of our sourcing company, Peruvian Traditions S.A.C. Through this venture, we delved into a fascinating world of garments rich in color, texture, and tradition. We had the opportunity to develop complete collections for a wide range of global brands and boutiques. Along the way, we noticed a compelling trend: most of our clients were based in the Northern Hemisphere. This insight inspired the name NORGÄTE—with "NOR" representing the north and "GATE" symbolizing our entry into that world. Alpaca garments, known for their outstanding thermal qualities, are a natural match for colder climates, making this connection all the more meaningful.

Ethical production

Our core emphasis lies in social and environmental responsibility. We've brought together Peru's finest craftsmanship, forming a network of excellence. Presently, our network extends to encompass 20 associated workshops, a collaborative effort comprising over 150 families. These workshops are primarily located in the cities of Arequipa, Cusco, and Lima, with approximately 40% of the members being women. Each creation is meticulously conceptualized and uniquely crafted in Peru.

And so Norgäte came to life – a sustainable luxury brand deeply rooted in the ethos of slow fashion. We stand resolutely as champions of ethical craftsmanship, utilizing the finest Peruvian materials of unparalleled quality, all meticulously designed to endure and accompany you through life's journey.

Where It All Began

Our journey started in Peru with the creation of Peruvian Traditions. What began as a deep curiosity for alpaca and local craftsmanship quickly became a purpose-driven path. From the start, we focused on learning, working closely with artisans, and building something meaningful—guided by respect for people, heritage, and natural fibers.

Creating NORGÄTE

Working closely with alpaca made one thing clear: we wanted to create garments of our own. NORGÄTE was born as a clothing brand, allowing us to design with intention and share our vision through fashion. This year marked our first collections, including CCB Journey (FW 17/18), and our first encounters with international buyers.

Fashion With Purpose

Purpose became central to everything we do. We officially joined the Fashion Revolution movement, standing for transparency and responsibility in fashion. Alongside this, we released our FW 18/19 collection, Sweet Camouflage, and continued sharing our work internationally, always rooted in Peruvian identity and ancestral textile techniques.

Growing With Intention

As NORGÄTE gained more international attention, 2018 became a year of awareness and intention. We focused on growing responsibly, refining our vision, and staying true to our values. This year also marked the release of our FW 19/20 collection, Oriental Fusion, celebrating thoughtful design and cultural inspiration.

Defining Our Path

As NORGÄTE reached new markets, 2019 became a year of preparation and clarity. We protected our name and identity through international trademark registration, ensuring the brand could grow with confidence beyond borders. This year also brought the release of our FW 20/21 collection, Amazing Earth, inspired by nature and respect for the environment.

People at the Heart

In a challenging year for the world, our values became even clearer. We reached an important milestone by becoming Fair Trade Certified, reflecting our commitment to fairness and respect for the people behind every garment. Supporting artisans and working responsibly remained our priority. This year also marked the release of our Zero Waste collection, showing how conscious design and creativity can move forward together.

Resilience and Pride

Adaptation and resilience defined this year. Staying present despite global challenges strengthened our belief in steady, long-term growth. Becoming part of Marca Perú filled us with pride, allowing us to represent our country, its culture, and its natural fibers while continuing to build a brand rooted in quality, fairness, and respect for the people behind every garment.

A New Home in Europe

A major step forward: we opened our first international office in Zagreb, Croatia, honoring our family roots and Croatian heritage. Creating this European hub allowed us to work closer to partners, reduce distances, and simplify the journey of our garments. This year also marked the release of our SS 23 collection, Harmony in Bloom, a celebration of balance, nature, and thoughtful growth.

Connecting Across Europe

2023 was a year of connection and visibility across Europe. We spent time in Warsaw, working with creative partners and sharing NORGÄTE with new audiences. We also celebrated the launch of our European e-commerce platform with a small cocktail event, creating personal connections with press and clients. This year saw the release of our FW 24/25 collection, Timeless Treasures, and our first retail presence in the UK through a multibrand pop-up store in Cardiff.

A Special Year Together

2024 was a special year for NORGÄTE as we took part in CIFF Copenhagen, one of the world’s most important fashion fairs. We were proud to join a group of Peruvian brands and share our collection with specialized international buyers. During CIFF, we celebrated Timeless Treasures with a small cocktail event. Being together as siblings—joined by our sister Rossana who traveled from Germany—made this moment even more meaningful. We also spent time in Hamburg, continuing to build new international connections.

A Global Chapter

2025 marked an important moment of growth and direction for NORGÄTE. We strengthened our presence in Australia by establishing a dedicated sales vision in Melbourne, opening new paths in the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, we opened our North American branch in Charlotte, USA, bringing us closer to our U.S. community. We also shared our work on the runway at Zagreb Design Week and joined VORN in Berlin, connecting with a creative hub that supports independent brands with global vision.

A Decade of Purpose

In 2026, we take a moment to reflect on the path we have built together. More than a celebration, this year represents gratitude—for the artisans, partners, and communities who are part of NORGÄTE’s story. With our roots strong and our values clear, we look ahead with calm confidence, committed to creating with care, intention, and respect for the people and places that inspire us.

A LETTER FROM THE CO-FOUNDERS

Since our earliest days as childhood friends, we were inseparable companions and playmates, spending hours engrossed in games that could span days, months, and even years. Our bond was rooted in our shared initials, "CCB," and our April birth dates – Carlos on the 2nd and Claudia on the 4th. Every year, we celebrated our birthdays together on the 3rd. After completing school, we embarked on the same educational journey, both pursuing degrees in International Business Administration, fueled by a shared dream of establishing our own company.

As time passed, we accumulated experience and honed our individual paths. Our fashion expedition began in 2014 when we embarked on research expeditions across the Andes of Peru. Our mission was to seek out exceptional craftsmen, source prime materials, and identify suppliers capable of delivering high-end garments featuring alpaca fiber and pima cotton.

The discoveries we made during our research left us awestruck. We had entered a new realm, one teeming with vibrant colors, diverse yarns, and captivating textures. However, what resonated most profoundly was the opportunity to support the talented artisans who infused life into these garments – the true creators, the knitters. Residing in the distant reaches of the Andes mountains, they were separated by both geographical and language barriers, which hindered their access to international clients. It was at this juncture that Peruvian Traditions was born – a sourcing company dedicated to alpaca clothing, designed to bridge the gap and assist with business connections while ensuring the well-being of these artisans, a vital link in the fashion supply chain. In 2016, armed with enhanced knowledge and a plethora of design courses, we took the leap to introduce our own private label, NORGÄTE.

Our ambition was to craft timeless garments, pieces that would become an enduring part of your wardrobe for years, if not decades. Each piece was meticulously designed to withstand the test of time, accompanying you on your life's journey. Collaborating closely with the knitters and weavers, every NORGÄTE collection embodies our joint vision – a fusion of elegance, simplicity, and luxury. Our aim was to create uncomplicated, beautiful designs that are as functional as they are exquisite, all meticulously fashioned from baby alpaca and pima cotton.

Our mission was clear: to create sustainable, ethically-made clothing that bears the mark of Peru. Every stage of production adheres to stringent ethical standards, and our commitment remains steadfast to producing solely within Peru's borders.

Today, we stand as lifelong partners, united by an extraordinary mission – to champion sustainable fashion ethically crafted in Peru. We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey, where you can delve into the world of our craftsmen and witness the creation of our garments firsthand.
